ila Security: Personal Alarm Review

A little bit about ila Security (from their website)

ila Security was launched in 2008, a joint collaboration with global communications agency BBH, whose clients include Audi, British Airways and Lynx/Axe. Its creation addresses what was a significant gap in the global market in the area of stylish female safety and personal security accessories.

A 2010 YouGov/Glamour magazine survey reveals that 68% of women are seriously concerned about their personal safety – and the same women also want to look stylish and fashionable. In response to this need, ila Security provides a must-have range of accessories that are chic, feminine and versatile.

Because when it comes to safety and style, there shouldn’t have to be a compromise.

When I found out that I was going to get the chance to review the ila Dusk Personal Alarm and the ila Pebble Keyring Alarm from Ila Security I was really excited. Adding the ila Dusk Personal Alarm to my purse, not only adds a really cute fashion accessory but also a personal alarm on hand and ready for any threatening situation. Once activated (by pulling the chain) the ila Dusk Personal Alarm omits an ear-piercing 130Db female scream that research has shown others are more likely to respond to than a traditional alarm, as well as disorientating an attacker. I love the look of this alarm, it's really cute an no one would suspect that this is a personal alarm. It's lightweight, yet feels very durable with a smooth, sleek design. The battery has a 3 year holding life when un-used, and the scream is easily silenced by replacing the pull pin.

The ila Pebble Keyring Alarm is a cute little keyring that is also a  personal alarm. It has an ear-piercing alarm that is activated in nanoseconds at the push of a button. Many women get out their keys as a coping mechanism for protection when out and about at night, this keyring alarm is ideal for giving extra protection.

ila Security also has other personal alarms and security devices for any activity, day or night. Whether you’re out jogging, walking home from work, traveling or visiting friends, their handbag charm, pedometer, keyring and door protector are all great choices.

Batiste Dry Shampoo Review

I hate washing my hair every single day, but I have to or it will get a slightly greasy look to it, even if I miss just one day of washing. So, rather than walk around with greasy looking hair, I wash my hair every day although I know that putting all those chemical-filled shampoos on my hair everyday is not healthy for it. I have heard about dry shampoos before, but never tried any, until

So, rather than walk around with greasy looking hair, I wash my hair every day although I know that putting all those chemical-filled shampoos on my hair everyday is not healthy for it. I have heard about dry shampoos before, but never tried any, until now.

I have been using Batiste Dry Shampoo in Cherry scent for awhile now and love it. I can now skip a day of washing my hair if I need to without it having that unwashed, dirty look. It’s a fun fragrance bursting with a rich cherry scent that livens up your locks and looks fabulous on your dresser!

Just spray the Batiste Dry Shampoo onto the roots of your hair is sections, massage it into the roots, then brush and style as you usually do. If you don't rub it in well, it will look powdery in your hair, so make sure you get it all rubbed into the roots and your hair will look great. The Batiste Dry Shampoo doesn't feel heavy on my hair and does a pretty good job of adding some volume too. It leaves my hair feeling refreshed and light.

i play and green sprouts review

 What is i play?

"What began as a mother’s desire to give her children the best possible health—both inside and out—is now

i play., Inc.

Founded in 1982, i play. focuses on values that prioritize protecting our children and the Earth. Our company has always been about doing the best thing, the right thing for babies. We are committed to leadership in continually learning about product materials and potential health and safety issues concerning these materials. In 2003 we discovered the use of PVC in baby products. We researched and educated ourselves about the dangers of PVC and ensured that all of our products were PVC-free. In 2006 we learned about similar concerns over BPA, a petroleum-based hormone disrupter, and quickly eliminated it from our green sprouts® products. Now we are researching petroleum-free materials and other healthy ways to take care of babies and toddlers.

As parents, store owners and good managers, it is important to educate ourselves about what is best for our babies, which includes finding responsible companies. One of i play.’s primary goals is to help parents navigate their way through information, products and trends in order to make sound decisions about the care of their family."
- i play website

This review is for i play's
Organic Boot Socks.

I have the Organic Boot Socks in the color Navy for toddler (2-4 years) boys. I love how soft these socks feel. They fit my son's feet perfectly and rise up high enough for him to wear them with his boots. They seem to be really comfortable for him and they don't slide down and scrunch up around his ankles.

This review is also for green sprouts Sprout Ware Plate & Bowl Set (2pk)

This plate and bowl set is the perfect size for little kids. It is a divided bowl with three sections and a lid that doubles as a plate. It holds just the right amount of food for my three year old son. And, what makes this set even better, it is made from plants!

I have used several products from i play and green sprouts and have been very impressed with all their products so far.

Simple Tradtions Bath and Body Products Review

I was recently given the opportunity to try out a couple of Simple Tradition's bath and body products. The owner, Leah, sent me two of her amazing homemade products. I received Strawberries and Champagne 4 oz Whipped Soap (Vegan) and Romantic Amber 4 oz Sugar Scrub.

These products are made by hand and you can tell that Leah and her husband, Will have put a lot of time and effort to make sure their products are good, quality products.

The Strawberries and Champagne Whipped Soap contains:
NO Parabens
NO Propylene Glycol
NO SLS or SLES
NO Animal Products

I have never used whipped soap before, but now that I have been using Simple Tradition's whipped soap, I can't wait to try out their other scents. This whipped soap is creamy, smells wonderful with a light scent that is not too overpowering and feels great on my skin. It lathers up well and leaves my skin feeling nourished and refreshed.

I love sugar scrubs, but it's hard for me to find one that is exactly what I'm looking for. A lot of times, the sugar scrubs are too oily feeling for me. This is NOT the case with Simple Tradition's Romantic Amber Sugar Scrub! I have been really impressed with this scrub. It feels awesome, I can feel it exfoliating my skin and it lathers up really well and rinses off easily. Now my skin feels super soft and rejuvenated.

The Romantic Amber Sugar Scrub contains:
NO Parabens
NO Propylene Glycol
NO SLS or SLES

I have absolutely no complaints about either of these products and can't wait to try out Simple Tradition's other products.

You should check Simple Traditions out at their Etsy Shop....you won't be disappointed!

And, check them out on Facebook.

Bare Fruit Chips Review

I just have to tell you about Bare Fruit's 100% Organic Cinnamon Apple Chips! First of all, let me tell you what Bare Fruit's Apple Chips are. Bare Fruit is a healthy snack your family will love. Low in calories, high in fiber and naturally sweet, Bare Fruit is the perfect in-between snack or lunch time addition. The Cinnamon Apple Chips are fat and gluten free, have no added sugar, preservatives or additives and are available in 14 oz (397g), 2.6 oz (63g) and 0.64 oz (18g) sizes.

I tried a 14 oz bag and let me just say that this is the heaviest feeling bag of "chips" I have ever held. It is packed full of bake, dried apple chips. On the bag, it states that these are Washington State apples, and there are 30 apples in EVERY bag!!!! There is also ONLY two ingredients listed on the bag, Organic Apples and Organic Cinnamon. I know exactly what is in this bag, there aren't any crazy ingredients that I can't even pronounce in here and I am loving that they never use synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides or antibiotics. They are also manufactured in a nut free facility.

I have a bad habit of eating fattening and unhealthy potato chips late in the evening when my husband, kids and I are gathered around the TV watching our weekly programming. But, I have recently begun trying to eat a little healthier and trying to consume less fat in my diet. So, now that I have been avoiding fattening potato chips I am glad that I found Bare Fruit to replace my evening snacking in front of the TV.
Bare Fruit Cinnamon Apple Chips are super good! They are crispy and crunchy like a real potato chip and I don't feel like I'm depriving myself from enjoying a little treat at the end of the day.

You can find Bare Fruit on their website.
and
on Facebook.

Review of Smartfoods Selects

I was given the opportunity to try out some products from Smartfood Selects through a Bzz Campaign for BzzAgent. I received the Smartfood Selects Buffalo Cheddar Popcorn, the Feta Herb Hummus Popped Chips and the Italian Herb Multi-grain Popped Chips. Below you will see my opinions on each of the types I have tried.

Smartfood Selects Buffalo Cheddar Popcorn:

I am not a huge popcorn fan and I am sorry to say that the Buffalo Cheddar Popcorn didn't win me over either. This popcorn was a little too spicy for me. It reminded me of the flavor of buffalo wings, which I am also not a fan of.

Hmmmm, not much to say about these. If you like popcorn and spicy flavors or if you like buffalo wings and hot wings, then you may just love these.

 Feta Herb Hummus Popped Chips:

These popped chips are loaded with flavor and are really, really good. I love the flavors! I love the texture! They're crunchy and lower in fat than your typical potato chips. They are light and airy, yet crispy and satisfying.

Each 1-oz. serving (about 16 - 22 chips) has 130 - 140 calories, 4.5 - 5g fat, 18 - 21g carbs, 1 - 3g fiber, 2 - 3g protein, and a PointsPlus value of 3 - 4.

Italian Herb Multi-grain Popped Chips: I love these chips! Just like the Feta Herb Hummus Popped Chips, these have great flavors. They are really good and also lower in fat than your typical potato chips. With only 130 calories per serving, I don't feel quite so guilty snacking on these. The serving size is 1 oz (28g/about 22 chips) so you can eat a descent amount of these chips and not bust your calorie intake for the day.
